All About the Artist

My life has revolved around horses and open country since the day I was born. I grew up split between two beautiful worlds: spending my winters on a farm here in North Carolina, and passing the summer months in the mountains of upstate New York, where my family owned and operated a large riding stable business for over 80 years.

For the past 30 years, I designed websites to satisfy my need to create. But lately, I’ve been making deliberate room for a different kind of creativity—the kind that requires a paintbrush instead of a keyboard.

Growing up surrounded by the quiet countryside and the beautiful mountains of the Adirondacks taught my eyes to look for the peace in a beautiful landscape. That love for painting started when I was just four years old. I still vividly remember the summer my grandmother brought out a watercolor set, handed me a piece of paper, and told me to paint the mountains. As I reached for the brush, she told “add some purple for the mountains.”

The rest was history. All these years later, I am still painting mountains, alongside the coastal shores, tranquil waters, and simple country views that bring that same deep peace to your soul. Whether it is a hand-painted canvas tote or an original watercolor, my hope is to capture a little bit of that beauty so you can take a piece of it home with you.
